QuestionsQuestions

Before you choose.

Is it a CMS?

No. It is an application kernel: identity, security, migrations, queues, media and real time. Pages and content come from a plugin, like everything domain-specific.

Can I host it myself?

Yes. Run it with Node.js, or with the bundled Docker Compose stack that serves the whole platform on one hostname.

Can I run it without your plugins?

Yes. The kernel and the plugin contract are the product. You can write your own plugins, or none.

How do updates work?

From the admin, without touching the server. New versions install themselves, one service at a time, so visitors see no gap. A version marked breaking waits for your Install button in Settings, Updates, and one that fails is rolled back.

Which database should I use?

PostgreSQL for anything with more than one site, because only it isolates sites with row-level security. SQLite and MySQL run one site each.

What can an AI agent do on my install?

Only what its token allows. You mint tokens in Settings, Integrations, MCP; each is shown once, limited by scopes and the user's permissions, and every call is audited. Remote access is off until you turn it on.

Do you collect data from my install?

Only if you turn it on. The usage report starts switched off. Once on, it sends a random install id, versions and plugin names once a day, and the admin shows you the exact report and where it goes. Every other outgoing request downloads something: the list of new versions, and plugins from a marketplace you added.

Do I need Docker?

Not to develop: Node.js and Git are enough. In production the Compose stack is the shortest path, and it runs on Coolify as well.
